Precautions
Associated WIth the Use of Valtrex
You should not exceed the recommended dose of Valtrex or take
Valtrex for longer than prescribed without first consulting with your
doctor. Keep all doctors and laboratory appointments while you are
using Valtrex. Inform your doctor of your complete medical history
especially if you have kidney or liver disease, blood disorders, a weak
immune system, such as those with HIV infection or those who have
undergone a bone marrow or kidney transplant. Thrombotic
thrombocytopenic purpura/hemolytic uremic syndrome (TTP/HUS), in some
cases resulting in death, has occurred in patients with advanced HIV,
allogeneic bone marrow transplant and renal transplant recipient who
have taken large doses of antiviral medications). If you are
allergic to acyclovir, (Zovirex) valacyclovir (Valtrex), should not take
Valtrex. If you are pregnant, intend to become pregnant or
breastfeeding do not use this medication. If you become pregnant you
should contact your doctor immediately. Valtrex should not be
prescribed to children.
Prescription Valtrex Drug Interactions
Inform your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication
you may use, especially Tagamet (cimetidine), Benemid (probenecid), AZT
(zidovudine), Retrovir (zidovudine). Also inform your physician if you
are taking medications that may damage the kidneys such as Neomycin or
Streptomycin. Do not start, stop or change the dose of any medicine

Missed
Dose of Valtrex

Storage of
